Europe

Yes it will have to take place in Europe. Just cause.

She peeks from behind a pillar. Her eyes bright, craving adventure. Decked in a dark, knee lengthed blazer and shades, she aims and snaps. No, she doesn't even aim. She just snaps. She passes a table, takes a used cup of coffee and gulps down its content before replacing it. She smacks her lips and swallows. All this she does swiftly. In her own world, she tiptoes to the next pillar, certain that the world would not notice.

He watches from a corner. More and more intently by the moment. He can almost hear the tapping of her feet on the tiles, the rhythmic beating of her heart beneath that knitted top, and the internal dialogue going on in her mind. In her head, she thinks, "the smell of coffee still beats its taste...I can't believe I just downed a stranger's beverage...and what was I thinking?...Jean would kill me for this...She must never know"

All this he imagines, of course. Little does he know he is almost accurate. Except that he missed out the tiny chuckle her mind made at her at the end. Perhaps he was distracted by the click of her camera.

A ting* and she knows she is being watched. She does not like it yet it thrills her. Who has entered her private world? Lightfooted and equally lightheaded, she skips behind the cafe...through the alley and stops.

There he stands. Her efforts to flee from this intruder has failed. She knows she is running, but running away... or towards? She knows the answer. He does too. He notices the twinkle in her eye. He catches the flinch in her lips. The flick of her hand and the snap of the camera.

He noticed.

*ting is the sound she hears at that precise moment. It is similar to the 'ting' you hear in the elevator upon arriving at the intended floor.

I WAS BORED AND JEAN AND SARAH FORCED ME TO DO THIS.

A matter of perception

Today I baked a cake.

While it was baking and I was washing up (woooah! she actually knows how to wash the dishes), my Daddy-o walks into the kitchen.

He checks on me and asks if all is good. All is swell. He heads towards my brother's room.

While passing through the kitchen again, I call out. He comes. "Yes?" he asks curious about what it is I have to say.

I look at him with utmost sincerity and say " Dad, you don't have to worry anymore."

"Worry? About what?", he questions.

"About me...,"I pause," If I don't get a uni degree,... at least I can bake." I smile.

He laughs.

Now tell me, what do I make out of this?

He then says that he doesn't worry about that. He is certain that I will get that degree.

Once again, what DO I make out of this?

Option 1:
He sincerely believes in me and knows that it's in my destiny to get that uni degree. Hence he is encouraging me.

Option 2:
What he really means is, "Nice try little one, but you are getting that degree no matter what. Bye bye bakerina dreams of sifting flour and separating egg whites from yolks!" Hence he is threatening me.

I think I think too much.

Brain, I order you to stop.

I guess it did. For that little while.

WAAAYYYY Overdue

Finally... Ok these are pics from my 19th Birthday which was about a month ago!

Started of with a lovely surprise in the morning! Jean, Sarah, Daniel, and Edmund prepared breakfast for me! Leon was sleeping...so I heard. They were at my place since 6 in the morning... I really appreciate small surprises like that. It means sooooooooo much to me. Really. I'd pick this to some grand KL Tower dinner anytime. ANYTIME! Thanks so much for planning this!

Excuse the sleepy face. I just woke up la! Plus it was unexpected so i was recovering from shock.

SO there...
I'm so blessed to be alive. And I felt so loved. It was great.
Thank You God.

I've discovered

Jean got me a notebook of discoveries. Yes a notebook, with empty spaces between the printed texts for me to include my very own discoveries.

I love notebooks. I could just collect them. They look so...attractive? Yes, attractive, for lack of a better word. One of the scariest things in life is making my first mark on a virgin notebook. I feel that what I write must be worthy of the book.

Anyway, back to discoveries. I've made many discoveries. Some usual and some unusual. Here are three I thought of recently.

1. My parents are cooler than me because they are in their second season of prison break and I have never watched a single episode. (I know I know. Friends, I will understand if you disown me now.)

2. There is no such thing as too many sanitary pads. You can never buy too much, unless you're a guy or you have attained the state of menopause.

3. Krispy Kreme is from the devil. This discovery is from the brother (look below). I believe him. Dad brought back a whole tray from the Philippines and we suddenly forgot the respected act of sharing.

Btw, if you're wondering. Every last crumb of doughnuts is gone. I'm sorry. It was beyond my control.
